How can I get investments for my startup?

I’m planning to start a graphic design and web development business in Dubai, UAE. Here in the UAE, you require an office to register a business name.
But I’m not exactly sure how investments work. Does the investor buy the office, equipment and softwares and I pay him a percentage of the profit for a couple of years?
