How is the failing economy affecting my investments?

I’m a novice at investing, and bought a few CD’s a few months ago. I’ve been checking on them, and am noticing substancial losses. They won’t mature for nearly four years, so there isn’t much I can do, right?

Rick B:
No, CDs do not lose money. Your CDs do not go down in value because the economy is bad.
If you bought mutual funds or stock, they will be losing money right now, but CDs do not. Cds are paid a gauranteed rate of return that is typically creditted to the account monthly.
